The Exorcist: Believer Movie Review

Image
The Exorcist: Believer  Story:  Angela and Katherine, best friends, begin displaying signs of demonic possession after returning home following three days in the woods. Now, it's up to Victor, Angela's father, and Ann, a nurse at the local hospital, to step in and ward off the evil shadow that has affected the two girls. Review:  If one were to describe 'The Exorcist: Believer' in a metaphorical shape, it would resemble an inverted pyramid. All the intriguing aspects of the film are concentrated on the top. However, as the story unfolds, we encounter a series of unfortunate events that lead us into a narrative vortex. This film marks the 50th anniversary of William Friedkin's classic horror masterpiece, but it ultimately falls short of living up to its legacy. While it does have its moments, particularly in the first half, where it skillfully establishes an atmosphere of suspense and a suburban ambiance,...

COBWEB REVIEW

Image
COBWEB REVIEW Story:  Eight-year-old Peter decides to investigate the constant noise emanating from inside his bedroom wall. As he develops a 'bond' with the sound, he begins to believe that his parents are hiding a dangerous secret. Review:  'Cobweb' establishes its atmosphere through slow-paced camera movements, a secluded suburban ambiance, and a limited cast of characters. With its chilling plot, it successfully draws you in, and you become invested in the lives of Mark, Carol, and Peter. However, halfway through the film, the initial excitement that held your attention dissipates, leading to a disappointing finale. The film fails to maintain its momentum, leaving viewers puzzled about whether it should be classified as a supernatural flick or a monster film. "Cobweb" ultimately misses the opportunity to stay on course after key revelations are made. Some sequences in the film...

Dream Girl 2 Movie Review

Image
Dream Girl 2 Movie Review Dream Girl 2 story:  Karamveer wants to marry his girlfriend, Pari. But he must first fulfil her father’s condition and make Rs 25 lakhs in six months. An easy way out for him is pretending to be a girl and dancing at a bar. Things take a bizarre turn when four people pursue Pooja/Karam for marriage. Dream Girl 2 review:  Director Raaj Shaandilyaa serves this comedy four years after the original Dream Girl, which was delightful for its quirky set-up and premise. The second outing has a similar premise. Karamveer (Ayushmann Khurrana) needs to raise an enormous amount of money quickly if he wants to marry his girlfriend, Pari Shrivastav (Ananya Panday). So, he pretends to be a woman, Pooja, and works as a dancer at Sona Bhai’s (Vijay Raaz) bar. Thereon, the movie has little new to offer throughout its 133 minutes. Writers Raaj and Naresh Kathooria have tried to crank up the comedy, but the narrative goes haywire and ends up as just a mishmash of ...
